many cosplayers simply dress-up like their favorite characters in order to express the creativity and the depth of love for them; Not only this, but they also behave and speak like them.
Moreover, there is a rule of cosplay not to include anyone one who has no ideas about cosplay and what you’re doing; They call this rule: No Killjoys. They are not allowed because they kill the fun.
Why cosplay so Popular?
At first, its name was not cosplay but costuming, which started in 1930s in North America. At that time, prize distribution started for those who came up in right style and dress.
In Japan, students started wearing dresses like their favorite anime characters. This was all to show love for the Manga series.
However, the term cosplay came in 1984, a word combination of costume and play. Reasons why people do this are:
- Socializing and community gatherings
- Identification with characters
- Creativity and imagination show
In the world that has limits to showcase creativity and imagination, however, the cosplay gives the opportunity to do that.
